Gene of the Week: Victimhood

United Press International wire service reports that, "Genes trump environment as the main reason some adolescents are more likely than others to be victimized by crime, a U.S. researcher suggests," under the headline "Genes explain repeat teen-crime victims."

Setting aside the research - which may or may not be successfully duplicated in the future - the take-home message could be a fascinating fusion of "blaming the victim" and "blaming the genes." Now, we can blame the victim's genes.
