All in One Basket is a must-see for any woman thinking about going through egg retrieval.

The 22-minute documentary by Lauren Berliner follows three young women through the process. One is rejected before she gets started; one completes the procedure without ill after-effects; one experiences a significant case of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome and is shocked at the lack of care and caring she faces as soon as her eggs have been harvested.

The documentary also features interviews with Judy Norsigian of Our Bodies Ourselves, a political artist, and a clinician in the fertility business who agrees that there’s something to worry about here. It’s clearly a timely production: While Canada and a number of other countries have decided not to allow a market in women’s eggs, business in the U.S. is booming.
